Amaryllis builds her skills in Work for the Dole.

Glenelg North Community Centre in SA is happy to have Amaryllis.

 

Amaryllis helps out for 25 hours each week with filing, cleaning and administration work to meet her Work for the Dole requirements and show potential employers that she is committed to developing her skills.

 

Every Thursday Amaryllis also helps out with the community market based at the centre.

 

The market is one of a number of initiatives supported by Glenelg North Community Centre. Other services provided there include support for veterans and widows, social clubs for the elderly, dancing and music tuition, yoga and a community garden.

Work for the Dole is an Australian Government initiative helping job seekers learn new skills and improve their chance of finding a job.  Work for the Dole activities can include volunteer work with not-for-profit organisations, or local, state, territory or Australian Government agencies.
